Welcome to the Old Post Office
The Old Post Office is a beautifully renovated self catering cottage sleeping 4, situated in the scenic Scottish highland village of Kinlochleven surrounded by the Mamore mountain range, 7 miles from Glencoe village, and 21 miles from Fort William, gateway to the majestic Ben Nevis.
From the Old Post Office you can easily visit Glencoe, Oban, Fort William, Glenfinnan (for the famous viaduct), Mallaig, Morar, Skye and Inverness, which are all within a days drive.
From the front door you can walk for literally miles and miles, going into the mountains, walking along forest tracks, heading along the West Highland Way, visiting the Grey Mare's Waterfall, and much much more.
After a day of exploring return to the wonderful cottage, with all the comforts of home and more!
From the cottage it's only a very short walk to local pubs and places to eat including the Highland Getaway, the Tailrace Inn, The Macdonald Hotel, the Ice Factor and of course our wonderful fish and chip shop!
There's also our local co-op store, open 7days per week 7am-10pm.
Inside the Ice Factor, apart from a bar and cafe, you'll find Scotland's National Ice Climbing Centre, with it's enormous ice wall and many other climbing walls as well. In the summer months it's also home to the outdoor aerial adventure course. Not to be missed (unless you are feint-hearted!).
A short drive along the shore of beautiful Loch Leven you'll find the award winning Loch Leven Seafood Cafe, 5 miles from the village.
Visit our Links page for links to all these places and more.
It's the perfect base for a highland holiday, and we look forward to welcoming you.
